I bought this thing last year at the drug store because it struck me funny. Still does. My son thinks it's pretty funny too, but he's only 5.

Metropolitan Beach
On Labor Day weekend, I launched at the Metro Beach launch ramp and motored over to the floating docks in the North Marina. We then had a nice little cookout and played putt-putt golf. Unfortunately I didn't take in pictures as I was entirely in the moment (and working my butt off launching and piloting the boat, etc.) So we spent the night at the marina, something we haven't done in a number of years. What I realized is that I REALLY need to get new berth cushions made and that my midshipmen will probably be sleeping on deck in a year or two, so there are a whole bunch of projects to make that happen. Overall we had a great time and the next day we motored around the bay and the canals a bit (it wasn't really windy enough for a good sail). We left the boat in again overnight and on Sunday I took some family for a miserable sail on Lake St. Clair. Not enough wind, too many big powerboats add up to a less than wonderful time, but it's always nice to be on the water in any case.

Shake-Down Cruise
Well, finally, about a month late in my mind we have taken the Cat's Pajamas out for a shake-down cruise. We sailed for about an hour and a half and motored for a bit, taking some time to do some fishing.

The Lottery
Well, last Saturday was the lottery and less than 116 people were wanting spots, so I have a "slip" at the park, this should be a much better sailing year!
